Safeguarding

At Aim High Academy Trust the health and safety of all children is of paramount importance and we take our responsibilities for child protection seriously.

The staff are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and our academies requires all visitors to share this commitment.

If you have any concerns, please report them to our Designated Child Protection Officers;

Mrs. C Shield or Miss K Erskine for Newbottle Academy
Miss E Jarvis or Mrs Rowntree for Dubmire Academy
Mrs. E Monaghan or Mrs. K Straughan for Gillas Lane Academy
Concerns can also be passed to Mrs D Shovlin (Academy Safeguarding Lead) or G Stephenson  (Chief Executive Officer)

The Trust also has a Director who is responsible for Safeguarding across the MAT
Mrs. Pat Dutton

Our Academies will:
Operate safe recruitment procedures and make sure that all appropriate checks are carried out on staff and volunteers who will work with children;
Establish and maintain an ethos where children feel secure and are encouraged to talk, and are listened to;
Ensure that children know that there are adults in the Academies whom they can approach if they are worried or are in difficulty;
Include in the curriculum activities and opportunities for PSHE/Citizenship which equip children with the skills they need to stay safe from abuse, and to know to whom they can turn for help;
Ensure every effort is made to establish effective working relationships with parents and colleagues from other agencies.
