Skiing 2024
Day 1 - Saturday 2nd March 2024 (Depart for France)
Evening everyone. Sorry for the late update: it has been a very long day.
All children are now fed, watered and tucked up in bed. They have all been amazing and a great credit to our academy. We will be up at 7am in the morning for breakfast before hitting the slopes for our first lessons.
I will update again tomorrow night, after our movie night.
Day 2 - Sunday 3rd March 2024
A great first day on the slopes. Children have made some great progress already learning how to travel on lifts, turn and stop. All children are fine and ready for movie night with popcorn and sweets.
Attached are some photos of some of the children today. If you don’t see your child please don’t worry: we will ensure to put different children on every day and all photos on at the end of the trip.
Day 3
Another blue sky day in France. Beautiful conditions to ski, and the children are absolutely loving it now! In just two days they have progressed beyond recognition. Turning around cones and smiling all the way down. Tomorrow they are set to explore the area a little more, but first we have a games night to enjoy tonight. It should be fun!
Staff have taken lots of great photographs of everybody today, so children will have great memories forever. A couple of photos to give you a flavour, but please do not worry if you can’t see your child; everybody is safe and well.
Day 4
Well today we experienced the bubble lift which took us very high into the mountains and onto the green slopes. Children are making so much progress that the instructors are ready to challenge them even more tomorrow.
Tonight we have ordered pizzas to delve into whilst we take part in a quiz.
Everyone is great. Only 4 days to go.
Day 5
The children have gone further and higher than ever before today. They are brimming with confidence and showing more independence each day. It’s a real adventure!
Tonight we have enjoyed ‘Make your own burger night’ before tucking into Nutella crepes. Some of the children have bought some wacky hats for skiing the rest of this week.
Day 6
Today we experienced our first chair lift which took us up to our first blue run. Just like the rest of the week, we absolutely smashed it and we can’t wait for our last day on the slopes.
Tonight we enjoyed curry and apple pie before going to watch and ski show and fireworks.
As we have a birthday girl today, we have had a disco, karaoke and cake
What an end to the week! Today we skied through our first ski park, attempting jumps and falling on our bums. After that, we found a sweet shack on the mountain top and enjoy marshmallows by the fire pit. To finish the day off we found some sledges to get us to the bottom. It has snow all day and been like a winter wonderland.
All children are now tucked up in bed waiting for their 4am alarm.
We will leave the hotel at 5am before flying at 11.15am. So far the flight is showing as on time. I will update everyone on here once we get to the airport.
